Description: I. 'ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY: Although Germany started superior to the Allies in Artillery, the conditions have rapidly changed. Some of the R.F.A. on a recruiting campaign in the City'. Horse-drawn artillery passes through streets in the City of London; large crowds line the streets; many spectators lurk near the camera. The troops pass by the Mansion House.II. 'LEAVING THE TRENCHES: The methods employed in the present "underground warfare" to pass through traverse communicating trenches from the front line of trenches to comparative safety in the rear'. Troops stand in line in a trench (one not on the battlefield); another line of soldiers fire their guns from the cover of a trench section. Troops are also seen walking along a trench towards the camera looking bored.III. 'ITALIAN NAVY: Our Ally in the Mediterranean is making great efforts to bring her Navy up to full fighting strength, in as short a time as possible'. At a shipyard, various naval officers walk past the camera; a bishop and members of the clergy are also present, passing a ship's propeller. The ship's prow is seen on a slipway, where she is launched (viewed from the stern).
